We Have This Moment: Landscapes by Holger Struppek
Harvey Milk Terminal 1
I think that with a little persistence and attention, there's something interesting to be found in all places. It doesn't have to be grandiose scenery or the perfect light situation.

We Have This Moment: Landscapes by Holger Struppek
A native of Germany, Holger Struppek studied at the University of Arts in Berlin before settling in San Francisco to pursue a career in interaction design. Struppek found his artistic voice through photography, and quickly gravitated toward natural landscapes for his subject matter. Through frequent road trips, hikes, and backpacking trips to national parks in California, Utah, Arizona, and Wyoming, Struppek cultivated a deep appreciation for the region's incredible variety of nature. Through these experiences, he has honed his artistic vision to better capture the essence of a natural landscape.
For Struppek, photography focuses his attention, draws him into the present, and allows him a greater perception than otherwise possible. The camera provides a means to capture and share this intimate experience with the viewer by isolating images found in nature and pinpointing obscure details that would otherwise be overlooked.
In our modern, fast-paced society, slowing down to connect with nature and the present moment has become a rare occurrence. Our contemporary lifestyle diminishes the capacity to perceive the subtleties around us. We Have This Moment acknowledges the transitory quality of life and Struppek's quest to renew humanity's intimate and sacred relationship to nature.
