Video Arts

Video Arts Room International Terminal

SFO Museum’s Video Arts program provides visibility to a range of contemporary artists and filmmakers who are at the leading edge of their craft. From short-form documentaries and narratives, to experimental films and all forms of animation, Video Arts brings you the thought-provoking, innovative work of today’s filmmakers.

This gallery is located pre-security on the departures level of International Terminal with daily operating hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm.

SFO Museum reviews exhibition proposals from artists and filmmakers on a rolling basis. Video Arts is currently programming four new films each month that are 10 minutes or less in duration. Due to our operation in a public space, Video Arts does not program work that features overt sexual or violent content. Those who are interested in participating may submit their work via our online form, here.

National Hispanic Heritage Month
Join us in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month! In collaboration with FilmSF, SFO Museum’s Video Arts program is honored to share four distinctive stories—from a documentary capturing a woman waiting for her visa alongside her dog, to a film about the powerful and vibrant work of Bay Area muralists at the La Peña Cultural Center. A short film exploring the hidden stories and communities of the San Joaquin Valley, and a documentary featuring a blind street musician and his dreams of overcoming struggles through music in San Francisco are also on view.

SFO Museum’s Video Arts program is hosting a FREE film series in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month spotlighting local filmmakers. Join us for the kickoff event on September 5, co-hosted by Film SF.
